Magnesium materials are widely used in aerospace, automotive manufacturing, electronic equipment and other fields due to their light weight, high specific strength and good electrical conductivity. The quality of magnesium materials directly determines the safety and reliability of end products. A magnesium material factory must establish a complete quality control system to cover the entire production process, so as to ensure that each batch of products meets relevant national and international standards.
1. Raw Material Inspection and Control
Raw material quality is the foundation of magnesium material production. The factory strictly follows national and industry standards such as GB/T 38811-2020 and ASTM E1124-20 in raw material procurement. All incoming raw materials must be accompanied by a complete component analysis report, detailing the content of magnesium, alloying elements and impurity elements.
Professional testing equipment is used to conduct comprehensive inspections on raw materials. Chemical composition analysis is carried out through inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry to ensure that the content of each element is within the specified range. Physical properties such as density, melting point and fluidity are also tested to avoid adverse effects on the subsequent production process. Unqualified raw materials are strictly prohibited from entering the production line.
2. In-Process Quality Supervision
The production process of magnesium materials involves melting, casting, forming, heat treatment and other links, and each link requires strict quality supervision. During the melting process, the temperature is accurately controlled within the range of 650-800℃, and inert gas protection is adopted to prevent oxidation and impurity entry. The stirring speed and time are strictly controlled to ensure uniform composition of the molten liquid.
In the casting and forming links, the pouring speed and cooling rate are adjusted according to the product specifications to avoid defects such as bubbles, shrinkage cavities and deformation. Heat treatment links such as solution treatment and aging treatment strictly implement process parameters, including heating temperature, holding time and cooling speed, to ensure stable mechanical properties of the materials. Special inspectors conduct real-time inspections during the production process, and products that do not meet the process requirements are processed in a timely manner.
3. Finished Product Testing and Verification
Finished magnesium materials must go through a comprehensive testing process before leaving the factory. Mechanical performance tests include tensile test, hardness test and impact test, which are completed by universal testing machines to verify indicators such as tensile strength, yield strength and elongation.
Non-destructive testing methods such as X-ray real-time imaging and ultrasonic testing are used to detect internal and surface defects of products, ensuring no hidden quality hazards. Metallographic analysis is carried out to evaluate grain size, phase distribution and other indicators. Only products that pass all tests can be labeled and put on the market.
4. Quality Management System Operation
The factory establishes a sound quality management system, clarifying the quality responsibilities of each department and post. Regular training is provided to employees to improve their quality awareness and operational standards. All quality inspection data are recorded in detail and archived for traceability.
Regular internal audits are carried out to check the operation of the quality control system and identify potential problems. Continuous improvement measures are taken according to the audit results to ensure the effectiveness and stability of the quality control system.
Quality control is the cornerstone of a magnesium material factory's operation. By implementing stringent raw material inspections, rigorous in-process supervision, comprehensive finished product testing and a standardized management system, Meiyin Technology ensures the stable and reliable quality of its magnesium alloy materials, and delivers high-quality products to aerospace, electronics and other high-end application fields, solidifying its position in the magnesium material industry with consistent quality and professional craftsmanship.
